This week in London some of the great thinkers, entrepreneurs, philanthropists and leaders are meeting in London to participate in Google’s annual ZeitgeistMinds conference. This high fallutin conference is not closed doors though, all of the panels are available to be viewed online, as are most of the past speakers.
The topics are varied from David Beckham speaking on his UNICEF fund to Stephen Hawking speaking on the Theory of Everything. The videos are a great way for kids and adults to learn about the forces impacting today’s world on a global scale. The topics are so varied everyone will find something that interests them. My current favorite is 9-year-old Alma Deutscher, a violinist discussing her process of composing and the revisions and years required. I can’t wait to show it to my kids!
The past speakers are available on Zeitgeist website also, and the conferences go on all over the world several times a year. Of the past ones Nike’s Maria Eitel’s lecture on Nike’s Girls program and the one on story telling by Mark Burnett is also inspiring for story writing. I see this as an addition to TED Talks, nothing wrong with more opportunities to learn more about the world around us.
