How much time do mother’s have while waiting on customs lines to fish through their gigantic hand bags to look for not one but two or three passports? If you ware like me not much. Generally I am standing on line wading through wipes, kindles, pretzels, Ipads and lip gloss while answering all of my children’s questions about what would be considered illegal to carry into the airport. Luckily I tend to have a sense of humor about the situation unfortunately that is not always true of the people behind me, or of the customs officers for that matter. We all have passport cases purchased as gifts at some point or another but that just means finding those three passport cases. A Hong Kong mom has created a solution and a fantastic website to ease family traveler’s journey.

Up and Away’s philosophy is Travel, Together, Better.  Amy, a working mother in Hong Kong, developed the idea and designs products in Hong Kong and supervises their creation in China. Up and Away launched their first product a few months ago and it is an awesome one. A passport holder that actually carries three passports and your boarding cards, luggage tags and airline cards. All of the things that don’t fit in your wallet and that get lost in that carry on bag that has everything and anything you need for the flight. The leather passport holders come in 6 different bright colors to make them easy to find in that giant bag or black in case that is what would stand out. There is also a choice of linings, polka dots, waves or grey.

The website also encourages customers to post photos of their Up and Away products abroad, with a blog showing the photos. There are plans for future products like maps and travelogue books, which I can’t wait to see. I love that these are moms trying to bring some fun to what most find the least fun part of travel with kids, the journey. I bought mine in Geneva Green and I know it will make me smile as I tell my kids for the hundredth time that, no you are not allowed to bring even water guns to Singapore.
