The Hamptons yet not “The Hamptons”

This is one of my personal favorite places on earth, the beauty of the fields, the farms and the endless beaches in such close proximity is beyond peaceful. This is what people think of  when they hear the “Hamptons”;  high end real estate, designer stores, fancy parties and clubs are much more discussed. Why did the south fork of Long Island become so popular? Originally, it was for this, the natural beauty that is hard to find anywhere else in the world.

Where are your favorite places? What makes them so special to you?
