Art Central

Art Central is a brand new art show created ART HK an established art group in Hong Kong. This fair is fro international galleries but with 65% of the participation from Asia. The temporary structure this gallery is located in is the largest structure of its type ever built in Hong Kong. It is located close to Art Basel and is considered a satellite event. They are within a ten-minute walk from one another. One of the central exhibits is a Swavorski sculpture created by Hong Kong’s own Joyce Wang called ‘Oculus.” Art Central will also have a pop-up restaurant and a street food terrace, to make the space all the more comfortable.

Art Loop Kids Tours is running the kids program at Art Central. Art Loop is an established art education program that runs art programs for children aged 3 – 18 years old in Aberdeen. At their program at Art Central they will be combining storytelling and the artwork exhibited at the fair. Children aged 12 and under are admitted free to the fair when attending with a paying adult.

Art Basel

Art Basel returns to Hong Kong for the third year. It is the establishment of art world descending on Hong Kong with all of the big international galleries represented. There are lectures, amazing art and this year even a film program. For Dining in the convention centre there are many options. My first choice is New Shanghai, which requires a reservation. They have excellent dumplings and noodles as well as traditional Shanghainese dishes.

For children, Art Basel has created the UBS Junior Art Hub that will include creating artwork while developing a full sensory experience. The workshops for five year olds and above are inspired by specific artwork from UBS art collection that would be appealing to children.
